Our Approach.
Identify and deploy solutions conservationists
actually need.
CTA was formed out of years spent working in field conservation. We assessed needs for technology, listened, and learned from conservationists working in the real world.
This hands-on research was essential to understanding the challenges faced by those working to protect and manage natural resources and wildlife.
We continue to gain insight, experience, and tools from our work on the ground with conservationists so that we can support field practitioners by making their work faster, easier, and better.
There are three major barriers preventing conservationists from leveraging advanced technology:
COST.
High impact tools are often out of conservation budgets.
COMPLEXITY.
Sophisticated tech is often too complex for non-experts to use effectively.
LACK OF TAILORED SOLUTIONS.
Technologies aren't being created considering conservation needs.
How CTA is circumventing these barriers:
HANDLE THE HARDWARE.
We buy key tech that functions across many conservation applications, taking on initial cost burden and implementation.
OPERATE AND MAINTAIN.
We bring the tech to partners and implement it for them.
A SEAT AT THE TABLE.
We develop tools and solutions for our partners and sit at the table with tech and AI companies.
CODEVELOPMENTCTA works with conservation partners to adapt and create solutions that work for their specific problem.
Assess.
CTA staff collaborate with partners to identify the core data need and gaps.
Consult.
We identify the best tool for the job, whether that’s CTA or another solution that we can help set up for our partners.
Disseminate.
Each project we complete adds an arrow to our quiver, allowing us to share workflows, practices, and tools with other conservationists.
Deploy.
CTA works with partners throughout the lifetime of a project to ensure data and analysis quality.
